| Allen County Education Partnership was
established in 1991 to offer educators and business leaders an
opportunity to work together to encourage educational reform and
innovation in public schools.

For the past fifteen years, our primary program
has been our early literacy initiative, Project READS (Reading,
Early Assistance in Developing Skills), which provides services for
kindergarten through third grade students who are reading below
grade level. Project READS involves community volunteers as tutors
for these young students, and provides instructional workshops for
their parents to provide them with techniques and strategies for
developing their child's language arts skills at home.
